Gwan can be defined as a congratulatory term, an expression used by young people to show encouragement, admiration and approval for one another. It is an attitude. An approach to life and style that can’t go unnoticed.
Gwan is a pictorial zine that focuses on the spectacle of today’s youth in all its glory. While others follow we make up our own rules, finding inspiration in the vibrancy and energy of city living youth. We don’t allude to high fashion, instead embracing spontanaeity, experimentation and doing everything to the max.
Behind Gwan is two girls who have grown up in and around London during the nineties and noughties. We have drawn on our own experiences in the making of Gwan, leading us to recollect and take a look back at what made us who we are… Now we invite you to do the same.)

The Educated Villains were responsible in part for the meteoric rise of Pill pre-MMG hook up, so they certainly know what they’re doing. Decatur Dan is supplying some great visuals and for a first mixtape release Trouble’s ‘December 17th‘ is setting a lot of high standards.

If your not familiar with the venue it’s that dodgy looking pub on the corner of Arcola street, a few mins walk from Dalston Kingsland. The night is being held in the basement, home to a fat system.

PINTA – THE LATIN AMERICAN ART SHOW

PINTA, the Latin American art show, are about to embark on their second event in London. This year, over fifty art galleries from the Americas and Europe will bring to London an important and varied collection of works by both established and emerging Latin American artists. PINTA, in collaboration with Candlestar is offering readers of BNTL free guest passes to the event, spanning from June 7th-9th 2011 @ Earls Court Exhibition centre.
