The ICA are currently showing The Architect and The Painter, the documentary that looks a little closer at one of if not the most iconic design duo the world has ever seen. Husband and wife Charles and Ray Eames are best known for their mid century plywood and fibreglass furniture but their approach to design has influenced many industries.

What really impresses me about the pair is how they really lived their designs, they ignored their doubters and believed in their philosophies so much that with each design came a revolution.

Scan any design or photo journal/tumblr and they will be littered with images of homes and loft apartments that copy the format set by the Eames House.
