The Gospel According To Budgie II
December 18th, 2012 by @misterlegoHoldtight the original top boy producer Budgie who recently dropped his latest mixtape titled “The Gospel According To Budgie II”. It’s definitely one to pick up, if you want to make that collection of music you have on your iphone/ ipod more diverse than it already is.
“Invigorating, intrepid mixtape overview of a neglected period in gospel music, flowing irresistibly through sweet two-step, hard funk, disco stompers, jazz fusion, soul ballads and the rest. Labels like Birthright, Sound Of Gospel and Gospearl alongside Savoy and Nashboro; James Cleveland and D.J. Rogers beside Souls A’Fire and the Holy Name Of Mary Choral Family. Previewed this year in Theo Parrish sets, recommended by Alchemist (and us), surely it’s a Christmas must.”
Available over at the record shop Honest Jons here

December 6th, 2012 by @misterlegoEver the subject of debate, Uk rap group Piff Gang drop their 4th mixtape titled ‘GREENHOUSE’ less obvious connotations apply to the title. I’m currently on track three and as normal I’m fully digging their music sh*t. Holdtight all the producers smooth work as usual. Holdtight man like Nick Bam getting a bit more vocal on tracks, yeah I see you g!
Whilst maintaining the botanical theme from our last tape ‘PLANTLIFE’, our new offering is a collection of eleven tracks. Through original production from Budgie, Crankz, Sumgii, JD Reid & S-Type (Lucky Me) a new strain has emerged.
