Tiger Beer x The Hidden Depths of Rinse – Q&A w/ Brackles

November 21st, 2012 by ODESSA

brackles

This Thursday sees Tiger Beer present; The Hidden Depths of Rinse.FM  at Concrete Shoredtich. To celebrate we caught up with Rinse FM DJ/Host/Producer Brackles for a quick Q & A. Hold tite Noah Zeeny.

We are giving away a  bunch of  goodies from the Rinse team and tickets to the event. Check below for the competition question…

Way back when….Were you first inspired by music and knew you wanted to be a DJ ?

When I was 15 and going to underage discos and house parties and seeing people DJing at those.

Way back when… Was the first record you brought and where ?

Snoop Dogg – Snoog Dogg (what’s my name pt2) at HMV Oxford St

 Way back when… Did you first DJ  on radio and how did that experience go down ?

My first time DJing on pirate was a station called Reel FM in Hackney when I was 16. The experience was almost identical to People Just Do Nothing and one of the MCs wasn’t too far away from Sniper either. I don’t think anyone apart from my mates were listening.

Way back when.. Did you really see the scene that your in start to thrive ?

 2010 I think..

 Way back when… Was your first DJ gig outside the UK and what happened ?

 Pretty sure it was dub war in New York. Big up Dave Q!

Big up Brackles for the Q&A!

As mentioned we are giving away to the 1st place winner;

1 x Rinse tee
1 x Rinse CD album
1 x Rinse 12″ vinyl
1 x Guest list to the event

Runner up prize;

2 x Guest list to the event

In order to get your hands on these prizes, all you have to do is answer this question;

What was Brackles first solo release ?

All answers too – info@bntl.co.uk

Butterz & Hardrive #4 @ Cable

November 17th, 2012 by @greg_bntl

As many will already be aware last Saturday saw Butterz & Hardrive return to Cable for what was easily one of their best parties to date. With an exceptional line-up of some of the best DJs, MCs and Producers in the grime, garage and funky scenes along with extended BNTL family, The Heatwave flying the bashment flag, practically all musical tastes were catered for in abundance.

To get an idea of what went down just check out the following video and make sure if you missed this one that you’re at the next in February which will no doubt boast yet another first-class line-up if that’s even still possible.

As their raves got bigger and bigger so did their roster with a number of new DJs joining the station. One of those was Marcus Nasty. In this video he discusses the positive effect that joining Rinse has had for him and his music career and also shares some of his experiences from the old Rinse studios.
